BIO

Katie Moore is a visual artist based in Co. Mayo. She graduated from GMIT Galway with a BA first class honours in Design in Textiles in 2015 and was shortlisted for the RDS Student of the Year Award 2015.

Moore was chosen as the artist in residence at the Jackie Clarke Collection to commemorate the 1916 Easter Rising with Mayo County Council, with funding of €30,000, which resulted in a piece of installation art entitled Paper Bloom and a limited edition publication. Moore created work for On Sight 2016 sculpture trail with an outdoor sculpture at the National Museum of Ireland and for the 186th Annual Exhibition, RHA Dublin. Other residencies include; Andrea Zittel’s A – Z West, Joshua Tree California, 2×2 Part 2 residency 126 Artist Run Gallery Galway, D.I.V.A residency at Electric Picnic, and artist in residence at A4 Sounds Dublin. Moore was also awarded the Upstart Bursary Award with Mayo County Councils Arts Office, in which her work was exhibited at Mayo University Hospital. In November 2016 Moore had a solo show entitled Nothing was left to chance; Everything was clinical, at the Custom House Studios in Westport.

Moore has been awarded the Arts & Disability Connect New Work Award 2017 to create a new visual art installation in partnership with the Linenhall Arts Centre Castlebar. The work is entitled Entropy, it is currently on exhibit at the Linenhall Arts Centre in from the 4th of May to the 2nd of June 2018.
